The sysop of the N4HMD BBS, Lloyd Wood (Woody) N4HMD, has been kind enough
to setup a special login on his BBS for KAMterm updates. All you have to
do is login as ``kamterm update'' (no password) and you're set.
The following details are from Woody, himself:
--------------------------- CUT HERE ---------------------------
I've set up a special userlog entry for the name KAMTERM UPDATE. Anyone
logging on with that name (no password required) will be presented with a short
message describing the area and KAMterm. Except for the logoff and time-check
commands there is only one option: <D>ownload Latest Version.
"A KAMterm download service is available 24 hours a day
on The *HOT MUDDY DUCK* bulletin board in Shalimar, FL.
The 'Duck' has four telephone lines on a hunt group (or
rotary service) at (904) 651-8684 (FidoNet 1:366/73).
Set your terminal program for 8-bit words, no parity (or
parity disabled), and 1 stop bit (8N1). The 'Duck' can
accommodate speeds from 300 to 28,800 bps.
Log on to The 'Duck' and when prompted for FIRST and LAST
name, enter:
KAMTERM UPDATE
You will not be prompted for a password (none required.)
At the KAMTERM UPDATE DOWNLOAD SERVICE menu, simply press
the letter D to begin the download.
If you participate in the FidoNet amateur computer network,
you may file-request (freq) the latest version from node
address 1:366/73 using the 'magic' name KAMTERM."
--------------------------- CUT HERE ---------------------------
NOTE: Some aspects of this are still being discussed with Woody. As the
present time (6 Nov 94), when logged in as ``kamterm update'', the BBS
doesn't give you any indication of what version of KAMterm is actually
online. I'm hoping to get this added to the short description shown on
the screen.
Many thanks to Woody N4HMD for making this available!
